Dr Uma Naidoo, who teaches brain-healthy foods at Harvard
Medical School, said there are foods that are easy to find and contain vitamins
that promote brain health.
This vitamin has 8 different types, each of which has a special care for brain functions.
Type B-1, also known as "thiamine", helps brain
cells, waste products and get energy. If the body is deficient in this type, it
is possible that the person will be impaired in terms of understanding, and his
body will suffer.
Vitamin B-12 or "cobalamin" is important for
the formation of red blood cells in the brain and genetic DNA. It also helps
the nervous system and brain development.
Type B-9, also known as folic acid, is involved in the
transmission of nerve messages, DNA formation and cell repair.
Foods that contain Vitamin B
Dr Naidoo said there are many foods that are rich in B vitamins which are important for brain growth and health.
Different types of beans are rich in vitamin B-12, while most green vegetables contain vitamin B-9.
Yogurt is B-2, while chicken eggs are B-7.
Salmon is a rich source of vitamins, including B-2, B-3, B-6 and B-12, all of which are important for growth and brain health
